Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Phoenix, Arizona. This onsite role requires expertise in hydraulic systems, CAD (SolidsWorks) design, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams and customers to enhance product development, quality assurance, and market expansion.
Qualifications & Skills:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
3-5 years of experience (hydraulic applications and design preferred)
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (CAD software)
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development & Market Expansion
CAD Design & Development: Utilize SolidWorks and GD&T principles to design and refine hydraulic components (e.g., pumps, motors, valves, cylinders). Ensure manufacturability (DFM) and optimize designs for performance and efficiency.
Hydraulic Market Research: Work with sales and marketing teams to assess industry trends and customer needs across sectors like industrial manufacturing, mobile equipment, construction, agriculture, mining, and transportation. Identify opportunities for new hydraulic applications and market expansion.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with advancements in hydraulic technologies and attend relevant workshops and seminars to enhance skills and improve system development processes.
Technical Documentation & Process Standardization
Document Management: Organize and maintain technical documents, including drawings, specifications, and BOMs, in a PDM system. Ensure all documents are version-controlled, up to date, and easily accessible.
Work Instructions: Develop and maintain standardized work instructions for the assembly and installation of hydraulic components. Create visual aids (e.g., exploded views, diagrams) to supplement instructions.
Customer-Focused Documentation: Develop user manuals, installation guides, and troubleshooting resources for hydraulic kits, valves, and related components. Work with sales and marketing teams to ensure clarity and market alignment.
Customer Support & Quality Assurance
Technical Support: Serve as the primary hydraulic system SME, addressing customer inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring timely resolution to enhance satisfaction.
Quality Assurance: Participate in component inspections and testing to verify compliance with specifications. Develop and maintain quality checklists for aftermarket components.
Product Information & Catalog Management
Maintain and update technical product catalogs, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, materials, and compatibility details. Collaborate with marketing to provide precise technical data for customers.
