Edgelink Recruiter Leads High Tech Networking Group Event For Mid-to-senior Level It Job Seekers

by James Hatch on August 21, 2018 in EdgeLink Happenings

At EdgeLink, we pride ourselves on our commitment to our candidates, clients, and local tech communities. Attending and hosting events in the Denver and Portland areas helps us to sharpen our recruiting practices while assisting area professionals in furthering their careers. These efforts range from networking on the ski slopes to supporting local recruiter groups.

Earlier this month, Technical Recruiter James Hatch had the honor of hosting an event with Portland’s High Tech Networking Group, discussing a variety of issues in the staffing industry with over 40 job seekers. The group primarily consisted of mid-to-senior level IT professionals seeking insights to assist them in their job search.

James’ hour and a half long presentation covered a number of valuable topics, ranging from the basics of working with a recruiter and resume building techniques to breaking down the differences between direct hire, contract to hire, and contract recruiting. He also fielded a number of questions that came up throughout the conversation.

James’ extensive knowledge in the recruiting and staffing industries, as well as numerous tech skill sets, kept the group engaged. The event was a success, with many of the attendees leaving the presentation with the knowledge of how to navigate their job hunt, along with a greater understanding of the benefits of working with a recruiter. Since the presentation, EdgeLink has begun to work with a few of the job seekers to make their career goals a reality. We look forward to helping these individuals and to participating in future High Tech Networking Group events!
