10 Tips and Tricks to Maximize Your Productivity

At Talent Groups, we know that true success comes from seamless collaboration and efficiency—qualities that Google Docs has supported for nearly two decades. As a company dedicated to connecting top tech talent with leading businesses, we recognize the importance of tools that streamline communication, encourage real-time teamwork, and boost productivity.

In honor of Google Docs' anniversary, we’re sharing 10 of our favorite tips and tricks to help you maximize your workflow. Whether you're an experienced tech professional or juggling multiple projects, these features will help you work smarter and accomplish more.

Ready to explore some game-changing tips that can elevate how you collaborate with your team and businesses? Let’s dive in!

1. Voice Typing

One of Google Docs’ coolest features is Voice Typing. Instead of typing, you can use Google Assistant to dictate your document, allowing you to quickly draft notes or entire essays without lifting a finger. Just go to Tools > Voice typing and speak away. This feature also supports commands like “new paragraph” and “select all,” making it easier to edit on the go.

Pro tip: Make sure your microphone is enabled, and use this feature for hands-free writing sessions.

2. Use Explore for Smart Suggestions

Google Docs’ Explore feature is an intelligent assistant that suggests content based on what you’re writing. It helps you find relevant images, research material, and even citations. You can access it from the bottom-right corner or through Tools > Explore.

Pro tip: Use Explore to find data, images, or information while writing reports, and insert it directly into your doc.

9. Add Watermarks

Google Docs allows you to add watermarks for branding or security purposes. To do this, navigate to Insert > Watermark. You can choose either text or image watermarks, which is especially useful for legal, financial, or confidential documents.
